Who are we?

People and organizations interested in sustainability, defined as the making of decisions in the interest of the health of the planet and its inhabitants.

What do we do?

Events, workshops to learn more and do more about topics we are interested in. Potlucks to chat and build community. Creative fun alternatives to video games and television!

When?

Usually once a month. Other organizations events are posted on this website too

Where?

At members houses, local churches and other gathering places

Why?

To make these changes easier; to help each other find good solutions to the problems of our lifestyle of overconsumption.

How?

By coming together in community…!

Why the Network was Started:

many people have told me they are excited to find people who share their common interests, especially because sometimes it feels we are all alone. It is important to me that we connect with each other.

I know that we all have different angles that we bring to this Sustainability idea: some are interested in water health, or sustainable energy, or local foods, or peace issues, or… you get the idea. But we are all connected by our love and care for the Planet. I think we all can agree that the future of the planet depends on us coming together, finding community, and working together in common cause. Through this work I believe we will also find love and care for one another, too. The more we get to know nature, the more we learn from her. I think the more we get to know each other, the more we will learn, too. We all have different passions, wisdoms, experiences and skills, and we bring them with us in everything we do. We are lucky when other people choose to share these things they know with us, because then we get to grow and gain new insights, experience and skills, and the work we do becomes that much better. Just like a puzzle, it is often difficult at first to see how all the pieces fit together. But after some trial and error, things come together and the bigger picture begins to appear.

I know that you all have your different passions, wisdom, experience, skills and insight. I hope that we can share these with each other so that we can begin to see how this bigger picture will look. My vision is to create a system of support for each others’ ideas and projects for creating positive change in the planet and its inhabitants, and — using our collective skill set and wisdom — work together to bring these ideas to fruition.
